Joey Manibo, M.D. FACS

Dr. Manibo joined Surgical Specialists of SW Florida as a general surgeon in 2004.  He graduated from Davidson College in 1992 with a B.A. in Psychology with a Neuroscience concentration.  In 1999 he graduated and obtained his M.D. from the Ponce School of Medicine. Dr. Manibo’s general surgery internship was completed in 2000 at the Carilion Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA, and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2004. While at Surgical Specialists of SW Florida, Dr. Manibo specializes in general surgeries such as gallbladders, hernias, colon resections, treatment of breast disease, sentinental node biopsies for breasts and melanoma to name a few.

He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is also a certified workman’s compensation health care provider. Dr. Manibo has authored several publications covering surgical techniques and practices.

Dr. Manibo is a member of the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, Lee County Medical Society, American Hernia Society and Florida Medical Association. He resides in Ft. Myers with his wife Sara Neal and their three children; Joseph, Lily, and Hannah.
